John Charles Leo, age 88, of West Grove, PA, passed away on March 12, 2007 at Jenner's Pond in West Grove, PA. He was the husband of Anne Camorano Leo, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony and Palma Molinaro Leo. John served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a Master Sergeant in the 8th Air Force and served as a crew member aboard a B-24 Liberator bomber completing 32 missions over enemy territory. For his valor and service he was awarded the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion in Kennett Square, PA. John started growing mushrooms in 1952. In 1972 he was joined by his son, Ed and formed John C. Leo & Son. Today, his grandson, Dan is part of the business and his legacy lives on through three generations. He was a member of St. Patrick Church in Kennett Square, PA. John along with his loving wife Anne, enjoyed traveling and ballroom dancing. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, talking, and playing ping-pong. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Edward A. Leo and his wife Janet of Kennett Square, PA; two daughters, Susan German and her husband Howard of Hampstead, MD and Annelise Lewis and her husband David of Kennett Square, PA; a niece, Marlene Criste and her husband Richard of Ellicott City, MD; two sisters, Theresa Gallo of Kennett Square, PA and Clara Hawkins of Media, PA; four grandchildren, Edward Leo and his wife Jeffra, Daniel Leo and his wife Sondra, Jason Lewis and Caitlyn Lewis; two great grandchildren, Isabella Leo and Aidan Leo. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers and five sisters. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, March 19, 2007 at St. Patrick Church, 212 Meredith St., Kennett Square, PA. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, March 18, 2007 and also from 8:15 to 9:15 AM on Monday at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home (610-444-4116), 250 W. State St., Kennett Square, PA.
